After three decades of dedicated service, Peninsula Villages has farewelled a respected leader, colleague and mentor, Deputy CEO Jackie Bennett, as she steps into retirement.
Jackie’s career with Peninsula Villages began in the kitchen and progressed steadily over the years. She held a range of leadership roles including Environmental Services Manager, Operations Manager, Chief Operating Officer and most recently, Deputy CEO. Her career reflects a deep knowledge of the organisation and a commitment to its people and purpose.
CEO Colin Osborne pays tribute to Jackie’s significant contribution and the legacy she leaves behind.
“As Jackie embarks on her well-earned retirement, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible legacy she leaves behind after an inspiring 30-year journey with the Village,” Colin said.
“Her influence reaches far and wide, guiding us through the evolving landscape of aged care, overseeing major operational and building developments, advocating for and supporting our staff, and continuously raising the bar in everything she has done.”
Jackie has played a central role in the organisation’s evolution, navigating challenges and leading key projects that have helped shape the services Peninsula Villages delivers today. Her work has consistently reflected a focus on quality, accountability and improvement.
“On a personal note, Jackie has been my right arm during my tenure as CEO. I have always had complete faith in her instincts, her leadership, and her capacity to act decisively and effectively,” Colin added.
“It has been an absolute privilege to have her on the Executive Team. Simply put, her shoes will be big ones to fill.”
To honour Jackie’s retirement, a series of farewell events were held across the Village. From a residents’ celebration featuring staff performances to a team BBQ in the newly completed Maintenance Shed, each occasion reflected the appreciation and respect held for her. The final farewell, held at Ettalong Diggers, brought together current and former staff including former CEO Shane Neaves, with speeches, music and tributes marking the close of a remarkable career.
As Jackie begins this next chapter, she leaves behind a lasting impression on the people and culture of Peninsula Villages. Her leadership, professionalism and guidance will be remembered and appreciated for years to come.
