We’re honoured to have Margaret Hardy as part of the Peninsula Villages community. A beloved and well known figure on the Central Coast, Margaret has dedicated her life to serving others and her impact is still felt today.
Margaret was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her exceptional service to the community. One of her most notable achievements was helping to establish the Edogawa Commemorative Garden in Gosford, a serene and symbolic tribute to the sister city relationship between Gosford and Edogawa, Japan. In her room, Margaret proudly displays a letter from the Edogawa Mayor at the time, framed as a lasting reminder of her contribution to this special connection.
A talented writer, Margaret has also authored six books, including Significant Women of the Central Coast, which shines a light on local women who have made meaningful contributions to the region, much like Margaret herself.
